So I bought my 2004 VFR800 in '05 new off the lot and have been loving it. I've only put 30,000 km on it since my job can really ruin me getting out during the riding season. I found this forum looking for a solution to my first real issue with the bike. I guess it's a harness that's not letting my fuel pump work so when I get home I'll have to check it out.

I'm looking forward addressing my future problems with this forum.

    Cheers.

    Welcome aboard.

A few more details about "harness not letting your fuel pump work".

I'm not sure about your Canadian models, but on the subject of harnesses, here in the US the 2002-2005 models had a recall done. But this harness was under the front fairing.

To jump on about the harness, have you went here and checked to see if any recalls on bike and for that too, since you mentioned you thought it might be the harness? Type in VIN number and see what comes up.

There was a recall. The dealership gave me some info to look at it to see if it was burned out or anything and it looked fine, but I'm still going to have to take it in. It just sucks for me since I'm a few hours from any dealership. And I'll definitely get some pics up to show off my hand painted tank.

Definitelt the harness. I loosened the left fairing, wiggled the harness, fuel pump spurred to life and bike fired right up. It's going for a truck ride this weekend to a dealership.
