Mods feel free to delete if this isn't allowed.

I listed my 1990 VFR750 on here and Craigslist a couple months back. The only offers I've had are trade offers, and mostly from people I wouldn't really want to sell it to. I'd rather it go to somebody who knows and loves the bikes and would care for it. I bought it from my cousin back in 2008/2009 (would have to look), and he got it from the original owner. 51k miles on it now.

I really don't need or want to sell it, but it just sits in the garage anymore and I have my eyes on a Supermoto. I can post a link if anybody is interested and this kind of post is allowed.

    Just now saw this. :(

I sold the bike yesterday for $2500 to a guy in his 40's that loved them when he was in high school and always wanted one.

Am glad it went to someone who appreciates it. Kinda bummed I sold it, but I felt bad with as much as it sat as of late since I moved to DFW.

No worries! I just replaced my fork seals and bushings, wheel bearings, steering head bearings, chains, sprockets, tires, brakes, and made a seat cover for mine so not buying another one was a good decision!

Now all I have to do is convince my wife I still need another... Glad to hear yours will be well kept! Good luck!

I'm sorry your logic is flawed.
There is never a good reason not to buy another unless to do so would cause immediate death or divorce.
    As for convincing your wife you need another there are many different approaches;
-I will sell this one when I get the new one up to spec,
-They are worth much more than seller is asking and if I wait a few months the market will be much stronger,
-I've always wanted one of these since I was a kid and can't think of anything else (refuse favourite meals, hobbies, and sex for a week or two)
-"these have the xyz motor which is a super rare special edition"
-these are becoming rare collectibles and the market will be double or triple in a few years and is a great investment (gives you more time to keep bike before nagging starts).
-the bike will be lonely in the shed by itself,
-with old bikes you have almost 50% down time for maintenance to make sure it is safe and reliable, a second bike means if one is down you can ride the other.
-once you reach a certain critical number the wife can not even tell by looking that you have added an extra bike (need 7 or 8 for this approach) just sneak it into the property, shuffle the bikes around in the shed and pull the tank off, throw a sheet over the front half and make it look like it has been there for years.

So enough with excuses, man up and find another bike.

Hahaha I like the critical number approach, now all I need to do is buy a house so I can hide them in a garage or yard... Although she's an accountant so counting is her strong suit, I'll have to camouflage a few as boxes

I've convinced her to take a riding course so she can get her own bike, that happens next month so fingers crossed she will get the bike bug.

I've got a few years of flight school left before I start paying the bills too, disadvantage of working to pay for your spouse to go to school before going yourself, gives time to make a short list of "must haves" so far I have one of each gen VFR and a ducati 999 for track duty... I wonder if I can get a shed with a fake back wall?

Keep the rubber side down eh

    :worthless: Just saying.

If you can't dazzle your wife with brillance, baffle her with bull-shit. Funny list

    Here's what you do.

Come home one day in the next week. Grab your wife as soon as you walk through the door, plant a long kiss on her. That's so she knows your still passionate.
Then slap a crispy $100 bill on the counter. Tell her its all her for whatever she wants - hair, nails, etc. That's so she knows you provide for her.
Next, pick her up and carry her into the bedroom, gently placing her on the bed. That's so she knows your romantic and masculine.
Now, without hurting her, you want to rip off all her clothes. That's so she knows you are still her lover.
Then - and this is important - you stand up, drop your pants, and rub one out right in front of her. This is so she knows you don't need her.
    Now go buy a bike.
