Givi v35 monokey bag help

so after years of wanting to get a set, I finally broke down and ordered a new set of Givi V35N monokey hard bags.

The question is: I opened the box, pulled out the bags. Both appear to be locked. One of the bags seem to have the keys INSIDE rattling around. am I missing something or do I need to return the bags? How do I get the keys out?

any help appreciated.

 

There is usually a key sellotaped to the packaging or the pannier itself

 

that's what the wife said, look in the box.... and I swear I looked in the packaging atleast 10 times last night. so I just looked one more time this morning. THERE IT WAS! Thanks a million. gotta go do the 'you were right, I was wrong' thing with the wife now.

Works every time for me, as soon as I can't find something in the shed I casually mention to my wife that I can't find such and such, so she immediately takes up the challenge to find it. This trick has been working well for me for years

 

I know its nothing special but for me, it's been decades in the making, finally got my first set of hard luggage. Got em mounted tonight. And planning on taking the old lady for a birthday weekend to Yosemite at the end of July. I already know I'm going to hear "you got your key" the entire way, every rest stop, the entire weekend....

 

Well Homeryou might want to go to the woods for that one.

Hard luggage is nice! Easy on, easy off and water proof. Plus it helps hold the bike off the ground if you drop it...........

 

Leave alittle earlier and go up to Monterey for WSB & MOTOAMERICA and join OOTV and myself......

Does a full face helmet fit in those? If so, what size do you wear and how much clearance is there in the pannier? I'm blessed to be Irish and have wear a 2XL.

 

geez, wish I could, just can't swing that many days off from work. Plus I don't think that would go well with the b-day girl though. she's hell bent on getting to Yosemite and hiking all over and she's been feeling neglected these days - building a garage expansion/addition and all of my free times been spent doing that.

Love getting to Laguna Seca, haven't been there for years! I'm sure it'll be great as always, post up some pics from your trip!

 

My large Bell fits in with minimal fuss. Not sure how much bigger an XXL is but I don't think it'll be a major issue, depending on the helmet manufacturer.

One warning: I put some leo Vince slip ons and cut my rear fender/license plate holder to tuck up nice and tight under the tail light. I got the quick release mounting system for the bags and don't know if the standard frame bolts on the same way. But the rear part of the frame is supposed to attach to the license plate frame in the original location. I had to get creative and ended up using the lower holes of the license plate itself as the attachment point. It's pretty secure, I think it's just there to prevent sway considering the license plate mount is plastic.
