Dropping the rear brake lever.

Footrests dropped 1" bars raised 3/4"
Comfort at last. Does anyone where I can buy an adjustable rear brake lever? I've lowered it as much as I can but still too high. This is the only issue yet to be resolved.

If I hear and bend won't it weaken it?

I did this with a bent gear shifter lever & have had no issues....

 

If the 2001 has the same rear brake setup as my '97, then I can tell you how to get the pedal a bit lower without bending....but I do not know if the same or not....do you?

 

I drilled an 1/16" hole (in a press) from the inside of the pedal (where it meets the "bracket") toward the outside, stopping with just a minimum left before it punched through. Then cut the pedal off right where it meets the bracket. Inserted a shortened 1/16" roll pin equally so the pedal was tight against the bracket. Temp installed it, rotated it to my liking and tigged it.

10-4, I'll grab one later for you. Can only show the finished pedal but its a simple fix. Edited above, it was 1/16" pin, not 1/8".

 

Can't you take it off and realign the teeth to a lower position? Or am I thinking of one of my other bikes?

Gator, I think you may be thinking of the gear shift lever.

Rear brake has a clevis on the end of the m/c push rod.
To adjust simply slacken the lock nut, remove split pin and connecting pin. Rotate the clevis clockwise...like tightening a screw...couple of turns. assemble minus the split pin and see how it feels. Re-adjust as necessary then re-insert split pin.
Sounds a lot but 5 mins ..done.
