    Great forum!

I just pulled a beautiful red white and blue gen 2 1986 VFR700F out from the deadly clutches of the side yard... Not my side yard mind you, but that doesn't change things now. Regardless, I have cleaned the carbs, the tank, the fuel pump, changed the fuel filter, and changed the hydraulic fluids, washed, waxed, and generally loved on this bike and it runs very well now. So my question is this...

"What is the weight of an unladen sparrow?"

Oh sorry, wrong question, I got a little excited there...

Does anyone out there know the factory idle speed setting for a Gen2 700?

I have bounced mine around a little and just need to know what it is supposed to be so I can go figure out all of the deep spiritual, emotional, and otherwise unrelated reasons why I will not use the factory setting, but need it as a reference anyway.

Good on ya, mate, for rescuing that VFR. Idle speed 1100-1200 rpms. Use idle speed adjusting screw to set.

Before you begin riding check charging system output, and be sure the fan switches on at any temp over 2/3 of the gauge. Older Hondas often have bad thermoswitches. :crushed:
