I had my new to me VFR on a Dyno last night. I pulled down 97 HP to the rear wheel on all 3 runs. She did smoke a tad but not that big of a deal as the bike has sat for some time.... Or is it? Oil needs to be changed which I am doing today.

I am interested in some insight as to your thoughts fellow members??

Good pull. My '00 pulled 96.3 with K&N filter and Yoshi pipe.
What color smoke? Milage? How old air the spark plugs? Air filter?

The smoke looked like carbon build up and it only happened once let off the gas after peak HP was reached. The dyno guy mentioned the engine is real healthy and that I should continue to change the oil regularly and enjoy it. Filter is new as of April 14, oil was changed at 24, 529 and it currently has 25, 278. I am not sure how old the spark plugs are. I am still going through all the maintenance records the PO provided me in the Honda Manual.

Doesn't sound like anything to worry over. Maybe run some fuel injector cleaner at the next fill up. I would change the plugs tho if you don't know the age ... our bikes have a recommended change every 8k. Take his advice, ride and enjoy!!

I'm trying to post my pdf dyno sheet here as well but I don't know how. The other forum is slow as hell for some reason today too.

That is very much in line with the 5th gen. Put iridium plugs in the bike and don't mess with changing them for a looong time. :)

That's a pretty good run, last time I took it to a dyno I got 94 hp and the tech did say the engine was running a little lean and would benefit from a power commander.
