I am fixing up my 86VFR750R that I just bought and would like a good sounding exhaust for not much $$$. 15yrs ago I had a bike like it and it had a supertrapp set-up on it and it sounded like a 350 V-8. Now supertrapp doesn't offer that system anymore so my only choice is to buy 2 new 'trapps and mount to my stock pipes. What about just making a 2-into-1 set up and using just one 'trapp to save me $$$. I noticed all the newer VFR's use just one muffler. Any thoughts guys??? I bought this bike as a secondary toy for myself so I hate to sink a fortune in it. Especially since I am not home enough to enjoy it and my other bike.:usa2:
I think laser has a 4-1 system still available a quick search should find info. Oh never mind I will help a bit here http://vfrworld.com/forums/first-second-generation-1983-1989/8530-4-into-1-exhausts.html That might help. Also if you can find some cobra cans. they make a nice sound http://vfrworld.com/forums/first-se...989/9183-custom-baffles-my-vfr750f-video.html Lastly VTR1000 cans can be easily modded to fit your pipes. After market are eps. good because they have adjustable mounting tabs.
My 700 Viffer came with a Yoshi 4-1 on it, but I have no idea how recently it was fitted or purchased. I checked Laser's website, they still show 1 carbon and 2 stainless pipes for the 86-87 as current products.
Last time i had one of these bikes i stuck on a Motad 4-1 system. All stainless, giving a nice meaty roar to the bike once opened up. Not sure where you can get one of these across the pond but a worthy investment as it looks good and more importantly, sounds good.
