I'm kinda wavering between going naked on this beast or not. This is the 750 I picked up over the winter for $100 plus ownership / title transfer. From first / second and third check, it needs tires (cracked from age), brake pads and fork seals. I've changed all of the fluids minus the forks, and changed the filters, flushed the fuel tank after some donkey drilled the lock on it while it was still in the tank and dropped shavings and chunks of alm into the fuel. (idiot) I've invested a total of $200 since then on a new lock set, seat cover and a battery. It seriously runs like a champ; I did really well on this purchase.

Anyhow, the bike is complete minus the elusive side stand cover but every single section of plastic is in need of repair to one extent or the other. It's all very repairable, very repairable but will take some time and obviously some follow up body work / paint which = money. Under the plastics, it looks like somebody took care of it. It was pretty muddy after being driven through a wet, muddy parking lot from the guy I got it from but after being washed, it looks great. The pipes have been heat painted but at least it shows somebody cared enough to detail parts that can't be seen - then I flip my mind back to the fuel lock (idiot) and second guess the maintenance.

That said, I'm really considering a naked VFR after viewing this incredible machine http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/index.php/topic/75243-my-95-vfr-sf-project-the-process/ and I'm now considering going this route as I already have a 2002 VFR for a daily driver. (the 91 was quick purchase given the no brainer price tag)

Anyhow, just talking out loud and thought I'd post some pics. I have a 2002 as well so I'm in no rush to rip into this. I just figured I'd see what the overall vibe was (I really love the third gen in white but it's a lot of time in repairs and a lot of plastic to have painted after the fact)

I got one too! The body work is all there and its bolted to the bike, I would tell you to go the street fighter way but since you got an operational headlight (read: not crunched, crashed,fuked-up) would ride it the way it is and put funds into it as your wallet/old lady lets you. Little tip, dont tell her the price of parts :loco: cheers great score!!!
