Hi, I'm new and I'm not too much a bike guy, but I really love the Bike Engine in my car ... a seven clone (Sorry it's a Busa).
    http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=896
I am thinking of building a new car (a mid engined) lotus 23 clone and am considering powering it with 2 x VFR 800 Vtec engines that have been siamesed (thus a V8).
Does anyone know if the VFR 800 VTec can be overbored up to 1000 cc, and if so what should one expect from the dyno ... and ... who are some good engine guys who I can contact.
    Cheers!

I dont have any clue if it is possible or not, and I don't know if you can bire out the vtec vfr motor. I do know that they (drag racers) did it in the late 70's/early 80's with good results, but with inline 4's. My only concern would be vtec and how it will affect power delivery on a bored out engine. Unfortunately a power commander can't change the engagement of the VTEC.

if you are looking for a 1000 try to fina a VFR1000R motor but they are sparse. So better Yet look for a 83-86 VF1100C or V65 magna morot they can be found fairly easily and house six speed trans with shaft drives. They make 110-120 hp depending on the year. OH yea and 1983 carbs are the best ones for that motor.

I think I'd try two ST1100's or 1300's! The layout would make more sense and no boring needed. Better torque too.

Hi, Thanks for the St 1300 advice but the car I want to build will be really light and won't be towing anything so torque (especially low end) isn't really what I'm looking for.
Motorcyclespecs ( http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/Honda/honda_st1300.htm ) sais that this engine produces 115 HP at 8000 RPM and is bound to weigh in excess of 180 lbs.
You see with my Busa I can produce approx 175 HP at approx 9800 RPM and it weighs 176 lbs.
What I am really looking to build is a BEC (Bike Engined Car) that is powered with light little screamer! ... Kinda like this ... http://www.cyclonepowerltd.co.uk/products.htm ... only a bunch less powerful and a hell of a lot cheaper!
