No luck in my search except for full custom. Corbin is looking for a test bike, but I'm a little too far away, so I'm waiting on someone else or the Sargent.

    Rich's custom Vfr800 seat: ( not mine )

Go to a local upholsterer and they'll custom fit you for the same cost as those aftermarket seats.

Why are you wanting to change it? The standard one is one of the most comfortable bike seats I've sat on.

Have done over 500 miles in one day on mine no problems.

A recent study conducted by the Dundee School of Medicine, indicates that due to the copius amounts of oatmeal consumed by Scotish bikers there is a direct correlation between the amount of oatmeal ingested and numbness of the gluteus maximus.

At 6'1" and 214lbs with a 34inch inseam I find the seat comfortable for an hour tops. I find myself sliding down and forward most of the ride. its distracting to say the least. I want another option that does not include butchering the stock oem or throwing a pad or beads on the saddle.

Your other bikes must have been torture racks. The seat on my ZX7R is more comfortable than the stock seat on my VFR. After 200 miles, I start to really notice that it is creating hot spots, sooner without my leathers. I think it might be too soft for my preference.

A custom seat from an automotive type upholsterer will probably use the OEM seat pan. The cookie cutter seats usually do not.

A custom upholsterer can remove the existing seat cover and replace same with a cover that has more grip.. Retaining an OEM seat that is uncomfortable or causes unwanted rider movement seems like a not so good choice.

Check oot Rich's seats for further info.

oh, i forgot to mention that Luimoto did the prototype seat from my 2014 --great company and quality, it was a vast improvement over the oem seat. i had a sergeant seat on my 2006vfr and loved it but luimoto is the only alternative for the 2014 model i know of. good luck

I hope by using your bike you got a freebies from Luimoto. Looks like they have some good deals on seat covers at 90 pesos a pop. I think a custom upholsterer might argue that the only alternative for a 2014 VFR is from this outfit is a bit of a stretch.

Luiomoto covers looks great, however i'm looking to change the shape of the stock seat. Raise the front to prevent sliding forward, beef up the sides to provide more support and additional relief for my 34" inseam. I am not interested in a leg lowering kit I simply want aftermarket rider seat options.

Sargent is what I have and most people have for after market sears very very nice quality. You can have them custom up your seat pan if you'd like. Then you have Corbin which are known for custom seats as well as long lead times and shitty customer service. I guess they only like the cruiser crowd. And there is Melboy seats out of UK. http://www.motorbike-seats.co.uk

Good luck with whatever you find and or go with.

I have owned many Sargent and Corbin saddles over the past 2 decades and once broken in find them to be viable solutions. With a little patience i'm sure both will offer something for my 8th Generation VFR.

Then you have an ass made of stone. I rode mine from Marshall Texas all the way back to Cali and my ass was still hurting and soar for two weeks.
Been eyeballing that Rich's custom seat and will go with it unless I find somewhere local that can fit the bill
