    Hello All,
I've recently returned to being a VFR owner from years past, I was riding Interceptors before they were cool!:).....I switch to CBR's in the mid 90's and never looked back.....Now owning an 06 CBR1Krr and a 94 VFR I'm finding things that seem off when comparing to my CBR1Krr, so I reach out to you 4th gen owners for feedback.

My front brake lever when at a stop does not have a smooth pull, kinda of notchy you might say....Is this normal?

VERY slight shimmy of the bars from road feedback, this is something I never get on my CBR...Tires are 90%, not the greatest in my opinion so I have sport tires going on.....I turn up the springs knowing the weak link they are and the rear as well.

I purchased this bike to make a 2,400 round trip to Sturgis this year, are Heli bars truly worth the money and will a touring windscreen actually create more pressure on my arms and wrist from raising the air flow off my body?

Thank you to anyone that can help on these questions!

Please state mileage on the '94. At anything over about 20,000 miles, you might need to service/adjust the steering headset bearings to reduce the shimmy. I've seen the same brake notchiness you mention. Try removing the lever and sanding smooth the area where it contacts the mc piston, and lube.

Ive ridden my 4th gen from cali to florida, cali to canada, cali to seatlle and would never go without my Givi Touring screen and bar risers. Also love the corbin seat as it has a nice horn to the tank that the factory seat does not.

Thank you the info! I was lucky enough that the bike came with the Corbin seat, great feel. ... Can i ask how many miles you would get from a full tank? I'm getting 150 miles a tank, seems kind of low.

Did your Givi screen potash the air over your head?
    Thanks again

Depending on how Im riding and how low I want the gauge to go down 180- 220 miles. This also depends on if the gearing is stock as miles can be a bit off of actual miles ridden. You should be getting in the low to mids 40 mpg range.

Looks just like my '95. I have about 33K on mine.

My master cyl is very smooth and progressive. I'd pull it apart to see if the two-piece lever is worn, dirty, a bit of the dust boot has torn off, etc.. The lever's brass bushing insert tended to wear oddly on my older Hondas.

I also have a little bit of slop in my head bearings. It's not that bad, but it feels just a little "off." I'll replace them eventually. New tires made a big difference too.

Corbin seat is very nice, double-bubble windscreen is excellent (not sure of brand). I'm 6'3" and wish I had Helibars. I'm also considering slightly dropped pegs like the Knight Design units or Buell OEM parts.
