I have a chance to buy an old VFR400R from Japan. It has low km's but has not run in a decade. Does anyone have any experience with them. Most of what I find about the VFR400's are on the NC30's and NC45's.

I owned one of these back in the day. 16 inch front wheel but a good handler, great engine. Mine looked great in RC30 colours. Very much the little brother to the 1st gen VFR750.

Aside from hitting a dog and crashing, this was a very sweet bike to own and ride!

Wow! Thanks for the pictures. Now I am wanting to see this unit! I thought that I lost out on it, due to the fact that the owner and I were going to meet on Saturday, and then they never got back to me, and didn't seem to want to call me back. Then today I get a call, and I'm gonna go on Saturday to see it. It has 6000k.m.'s, and is in Rothman's colors. Has been dumped I guess, and has not run in a decade. Will see what it's like. Have to go to another City to see it though. Will post some pics if I buy it. Maybe even if I don't. Thanks for replying to my post. It is hard to find information on non-NC30/NC45 models.

Never got to even see the bike. The person selling it was up to something? I was on my way twice, and was called and told that something had come up! An emergency! This was after her telling me that she'd call me after her furniture was del'd Sat. AM. I called her back Sat. at 2 pm after sitting around for the call. She said no furniture, or call even, from the Company. Then she would'nt answer the phone. A week later she said someone had stolen her phone, so she had no way to call me. Ya, right. Well, I gave up. Not sure what the real story is. I then got a lead on a 1987 Honda VFR700, a white one. Ultra rare in Canada, as they weren't sold here. But that's another story...
