Hi, on my Vstrom I have 2 plugs that are for aux connections, one for heated grips and one for low power usage (15watts). These 2 plugs are capped and available to be used and have really come in handy, they are switched circuits. Does my 2003 VFR800 have any kinds of these connections? I want to hook up a powered USB plug that is switched with the ignition. Thanks.
This is one area where I have not explored on the bike yet so I cannot answer your question directly but it is relatively easy to create your own fused circuit. You will still need to find and tap into a switched power lead. A common one used is the license plate light wire as it's easy to find, access and is not as critical as say your brake light, in the event something happens with your tie in or the circuit. Hopefully some one with more knowledge of the wiring harness can chime in and answer your question. Cheers
There are several options http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00MM...er+adapter&dpPl=1&dpID=51qcqGkkdtL&ref=plSrch You can check out my photo gallery for set up.
Thanks but I assume your outlet is always on? Based on the only picture I could find it appeared you were just using a standard fuse box. I am looking for my outlet to be switched, mainly because its going to power a dash camera nad for the camera to work properly, it needs to turn on and off with the bike. I was hoping the VFR had an extra connector for aux/heated grips somehwere that I could connect to that was switched like the vstrom has, but I guess this is something not found on older bikes.
