Need help finding a tall order on some very minor parts. Blame my OCD...

I figured it's about time to consult the experts here, since my own searching has gotten me precisely nowhere.

I've got a 2006 Pearl White Interceptor. All factory stock, at the moment. I like the stock look, actually. That said, the Honda logo decals on the fuel tank are, of course, red...and the "Interceptor" logos on the rear cowl have red accents. I'd LOVE to, as factory stock (looking) as possible, switch all of them over to blue. I'm just not a huge fan of red I guess.

So, there you have my OCD. :eek:range:

Factory replacement decals would be the best, but I'm not sure if they even exist in a blue motif. Alternatively, I have no problem paying for top quality aftermarket replacements.

As long as I'm talking decals and proudly letting my OCD fly, one more question. Our factory windscreens have a decal on them that makes the windscreen look as if it gradually fades up from solid black to clear (and has "Honda" written across it toward the bottom). Is there anywhere to get just that decal? I have an aftermarket windscreen that I'd like to integrate in as factory a way as possible.

Like I said, I know this is all probably a tall order, but it never hurts to ask! Thanks!

You are aware that those Honda decals on the tank are UNDER the clear coat, right? You're probably looking at a full repaint of the tank to change those. I suppose you could get an exact replica in size and shape and just put it over the existing decal, but you might end up seeing the edges of the old decal under the new one, depending on how thick the clear coat is. I can't remember if the Interceptor decal on the back is the same, but I think it is.

Windshield decal is item #3. Can probably be found at other e-tailers as well.

And this is precisely why I'm humble enough to consult those much more knowledgeable than I, before I run off the deep end on a given project. LOL!

No, I didn't realize that they were under the clear coat. I guess I'm fortunate enough to have stepped up to such a high quality bike as this new-to-me Honda, from several bikes at a much lower quality.

While I'm willing to pay for quality, a full repaint of body components, merely to change the color of a decal, is ludicrous.

I appreciate the info, DriverDave! Suddenly, I find myself liking the red more than I just did. :sneakiness:

    Arnzinator! Thanks, my friend!
That helps me knock one project off my list.

Exactly what I was looking for. I'm ordering it right now...

BikeBandit is also a good place to find OEM stuff (as well as aftermarket).

If you really despise the colour of the Honda wings and could find some alternate replacements you could put them over top of the ones that are there now (putting them both in exactly the same spot on both sides of the tank would be easier, LOL). You would likely see a bit of a ridge where the current decal is underneath but it could be done. If you liked the way it looked no harm, no foul. If you didn't like the look of the new decal it could be peeled off and the factory decal would still be there. Just a thought.

I have a friend with a 95 VFR750 that ordered some factory style decals from this company a little while ago and the decals were excellent and I think you even have the choice to change some of the colors. Maybe have a look and see what you think.

As was pointed out, the tank decal is under the clearcoat. A color change would require removal to bare metal, feathering the edges of the base paint and clearcoat, several coats of filler-primer over the removal area, sanding back and for a professional level job the entire tank primed, sanded again, repainted with the base applying the new decal and 2-3 coats of clear to finish.

Overlaying an OEM decal over the clearcoat is not a good idea if one can even be found. Any spill of fuel will affect the adhesive and the decal will debond from the substrate.

The rear cowl decals are applied over the paint though. I don't think it is worth the trouble unless you were going to repaint anyways. But you seem to have already come to that conclusion.
