My bike has license plate lights. I'm going to have to pull the wires through to get the plate off. How much of a pain is it to pull the rear cowl off?

I'm tempted to cut the wires and splice them back together but that would be pretty cheesy.

Not even a one beer job and not worth cutting the wires over, and remember the only stupid question is one that SOW will ask.

I just did the whole rear cowl, and rear fender "A" & "B". If it's just the cowl...not bad at all. If you're after the entire fender assy, the mufflers will have to come off, battery will come out, seat lock will have to be removed. takes about an hour each way.

What are you doing to the bike? Are you getting rid of the rear fender? I cut mine and regretted that. If you are not riding in the rain or wet roads, all is good but you really get into one hell of a mess from water and guk being sprayed up your back without the fender.

Regardless, the rear cowl comes off super easy. Do you have a service manual for your bike? If not, send me a PM with your addy. I will burn you a copy.

Replacing the license plate. Glad it's easy, manual was at home and I was at work.
    Thanks for the offer.

From memory, which tends to fade from time to time these days. You should appreciate that. I think all there is is four allen bolts beneath the seat and the four grab handle bolts.
