What type of grease would you use to pack the needle bearing in the eccentric bearing carrier in the SA of a 1997 VFR750f?

Yeah, it doesn't do much, just needs some grease to keep it from getting corroded and locking up. EP/HT synthetic of any brand will do the trick.

I'd just use whatever I wipe off my forehead.

I actually have nothing useful to add.

Thanks for the replies. I'd used hi-temp grease before on the NT650 (it's been a while since I've taken apart the street bike and re-greased it). It is exactly the same part, but thought I'd check to see if there were any better options.

    Thanks again.

    I agree with this!
Grease is relatively low price so get a synthetic EP with the NLGI: GC-LB rating. It's an all purpose rating for chassis and rolling element bearings. I bought a can of Mobile 1 synthetic a few years ago and i think it will last for a long time.

From memory that is one of the places Honda specify the 60% moly grease.
Why it is better I don't know.
