Hi all, I'm a new member here. I started following the site while trying to troubleshoot a problem with my Interceptor. The bike is a red and white '83 vf750f and I am the original owner. Yes that does make me an old person. The bike is aging better than me, too. At least I can replace worn-out parts on the bike.
What kind of mileage do you have on your bike and what condition is it in? You may want to consider restoring it to stock form. Since you're the original owner, you couldn't ask for a better starting point. Do you have any photos? It's always great to see the earliers Interceptors. Welcome to the group.
Welcome to the group. Thanks for joining us. You must really love that bike and not wanted anything else to still have it. Kudos!
I just turned over 19,000 miles yesterday. It's all original except for the seat, tires and exhaust. I recovered the seat with a Travelcade cover about 10 years ago and it hasn't held up very well. I wish I had bought a Corbin seat when they were still available. A decent seat is on my shopping list, even if it's an old original one. I just bought a used Vance and Hines 2 into 1 system for it off of Ebay. It doesn't look too bad except for the V + H emblems on the cans have the paint worn off in spots. I think the bike really sounds good with this exhaust. It's louder than stock, with a nice bark to it. The bike itself is all original paint- probably about a 7 out of 10. The gas tank has a few dings in it and the clear coat is hazy near the gas fill from where gas leaked out after I over-filled it years ago. The plastic tail section is broken where the side panels attaches on the left side. The chin fairing is a little melted and the paint is worn off in spots. Otherwise just the normal wear and tear from being 24 years old. I'll try to get some phots posted in the near future.
