First of all, lets get this our of the way:

Hi, I'm DarthFritter, and I'm a Vtec addict.

I have loved the interceptor since the first time I laid eyes on one circa 1985. The neighbor's teenage son came home with one and without getting too far into an anecdote, lets just say 'a fight ensued' between father and son.
30 years, a career, a wife, and a kid later- I bought my 2008 Honda Interceptor (with permission from Mrs. Fritter).

I found it in a Craiglist ad, and immediately called the guy to come see it. It was November and the temperature was a balmy 25F degrees. I had no gloves. I had no helmet. I had left my brain at home. I HAD to ride this bike. 5 minutes and a mild case of hypothermia put me in a shakin' kind of mood, so I shook his hand on the promise that I would return with cash.

3204 is what was on the odometer. You read that right. I returned in the agreed amount of time, handed the man 55-$100 bills. Full tank of gas, hard bags, both sets of keys, all the original paperwork, title, and a cup of hot chocolate from the seller and his wife while we filled out a bill of sale.

That's my story. My world comes alive at 6700 RPM and I know I'm not alone. Pics of the bike and gear to come.

thank you! and YES! when I bought the bike, I bought a properly fitted helmet, jacket, gloves and boots. Iowa doesn't have a helmet law, so some of the local Harley dudes look at me funny. It's funny to me to see people riding in shorts and a t-shirt. They must be way better riders than I am to have that much confidence in their ability and the world around them. Not trying to judge anyone, just sayin.

Although we have a helmet law here in CA, it doesn't prevent riders from wearing tank top, shorts and flip flops, with their "salad bowl" helmet! Typical for the HD crowds that like to bar hop along PCH, not judging, just observing.

Hi and congrats to you. What a nice find. It is practically new.

We left the Midwest in the early 80s to enjoy all year round riding in California. Just kidding.

I miss the Midwest, there are some really nice folks there.

Enjoy your new ride and be safe.
