I am thinking about buying a VFR800 in the spring of 2008. I have had 2 Suzuki TL1000R, 1 Yamaha R1, and 1 Bandit 600s. I was searching around on the internet to get some information on the VFR and found your forum. Oh by the way I live in Missouri.
Were you going to buy new or used? Used is your best bet .. The VFR series started in 1986 with the first gear driven VFR750 Interceptor and has went through mild changes over the years until 1998 when Honda added fuel injection/ Linked brakes/ went from 750cc to 781cc engine . The VFR no matter what year you buy is a strong running machine and are known to break the 100,000 mile mark with ease... a messenger over seas rides his daily for work and has over 400,000 miles on his 1994 VFR 750.. The VFR has 6 different generations , each one has subtle changes leading up to the 2007 Vtec VFR.. The Vtec VFR model started in 2002 and is still the same for 2007, yes we all are hoping for a revamped VFR for 2008..

Thanks for the welcome to your forum. I have been reading a lot of the other post on here and it seems there are a few of you not really impressed with the VFR. What websites do you use most to buy aftermarket parts in the states?
The only bad thing about the VFR is that they don't need many aftermarket parts. They are preety darn good, just the way they are.:rockon:
welcome! VFR stands for Very Fine Ride. It may not be the best at anything, but it is bettr than most at everything! Try it, I think you will like it.
Really? I think that most on here are pretty impressed with the VFR. We may have litte nits but I'm sure if you go to any bike specific site, you'll find the same. What you will probably notice consistently on here is that most feel that the VFR is the best well rounded machine out there. It may not be the fastest, it may not be the MOST comfortable, it may not be the lightest, but it is one of the best all around bikes out there. I stumbled into the VFR, but I have enjoyed it thoroughly. I must admit that I just love motorcycles in general, though, so I may not be the best judge...
I myself am not impressed with the 2002-2007 VTEC model as it gained weight and does not have gear driven cams , and I dont care for underseat exhaust design.. But as they say to each his own..some like it some dont.. Aftermarket parts are available ,you just have to know where to look..LOL
