Okay, bought a used PC3 off a member here in the winter for $150 plugged it in on my '02 and it worked great and made everything smoother. A couple of weeks ago I installed a Two Bros Black Series CF slip on and the mechanic couldn't download a new map with his laptop because he didn't have a com port compatible with the '02/'03 PC3. Rather than dick around he suggested I spend another $350 and install a Bazzaz which he said works right off idle and is a better mod for street riding as opposed to the PC3 which doesn't improve the fueling below a few thousand rpm. What do you guys think? Anybody happy with Bazzaz? I could probably flog the PC3 to somebody else for a hundred and they could put it on their stock VFR for plug and play improvement. I'm in deep enough with this pipe that I want to get it tuned spot on. Thanks.
I would get in touch with Dynojet/power commander (.com) and ask them for instruction on down loading and updating their maps on your own. There are dozens, maybe hundreds of options from them and once you know how to update it on your own you will be totally stoked. John
if you are looking for a cheap fix for the PC3 , i think the cable needed is available on ebay. Not sure but a serial RS232 DB9 to USB cable is only about $5 to $10 dollars, and then you can load maps from two brothers web site your self .
