Step 1. Walk out into garage and notice that the entry is way down where you can either reach, or see, but not both. Pick one. Notice your hands are larger than a six year old girl's. Realize this is going to suck. Go back in the house and crack a beer and watch the game. Procrastinate for a week. Consider paying someone to change the bulb for you but decide you're better than that.

Step 2. Return with a fresh set of patience. Reach way down into the fairing. No, farther. Skin starting to come off your knuckles? You're almost there. Scrape bloody gouges into your fingers and hand. Silently curse the engineers who design bikes this way. Then curse loudly so the neighbours can suffer along with you.

Step 3. Bulb's in. Now it's time to re-insert the boot. You will do this by braille. Allow half an hour. Boot's fully seated...or not...either way you're past caring.

Step 4. Now it's time to simply plug it in. Why...won't...it...fucking....plug in???!!! Oh no.

Now a real pervert would go for a 90-93 VFR that has a spring wire and a boot plus what the major bulb dudes swear up and down is the fitted lamp that Honda uses on that group of bikes.

    It ain't.

I have large hands and I did it for the first time without removing the fairings in about 20 minutes. Of that 20 minutes, the first bulb occupied about 16. Once I had the stupid latch figured out, the second one took no time at all.
