Has Anyone Built A Header System For A Early 90's Vf? Was Wondering If Getting Rid Of The Cat Would Cause Any Problems? I Almost Have Mine Done And Im Hooking It Into A Yoshi Muffler For A 2002 Cbr 600 F4i. Looks Very Cool Right Now I Just Haft To Smooth Out Some Of The Welds. The Tubes Are 1 And 1/2 Inch
1.) A header on these bikes is a very complicated undertaking. I doubt that de-catting it will cause any significant issues, but you may need to re-jet the carburetors to account for the change in the air/fuel ratio. 2.) How Can Anyone Type In A Way Where Every Word Is Capitalized? Only The First Word And Proper Nouns In A Sentence Should Be Capitalized. Sorry I'm Such A Dick, But I Used To Be A College Newspaper Editor, And Correct Grammar And Sentence Structure Is A Pet Peeve Of Mine.
Well Honestly I Did Not Do That, It Must Be A Program In My Computer? And My Header Will Not Include A Cat, Thats What I Was Wondering About, Having A Problem Without One?
No problem, your posts just look funny. I would think that removing the cat (by creating a "test pipe" header) would not be a significant issue. Like I said earlier, You would have to adjust the needles and jets in the carb to accomodate for the much higher exhaust flow. I saw one of your other posts with running issues - it seems as if you have already worked on these carbs. I think that a stage 2 jet kit (if available) would work for your header. Also, you need to make sure that the header itself does not have any leaks. This could also cause poor running. I de-catted my '94 Honda Civic (intake & header/fullexhaust) with no issues other than it running slightly rich.
Im Mainly Just Wondering About The Loss Of Back Pressure, Because There Will Be No Cat? As For Leaks, I Have Been Working On This For About 2 Months Taking My Time And My Welds Look Factory Ha Ha , I Have Also Jumped Up 4 More Teeth On The Back For The Loss Of Some Bottom End. Jetting Im Sure You Are Right About, But I Have A Stage 2 Kit Already That I Took Back Off The Bike Becuise It Was Running Bad And Having The Starting Problem Thing.
