i have a problem with the high beam switch on my 96, when i switch from low to high beam sometime there will be no headlights at all if i tap the switch in the high beam position the high will come on, even though the bike is a 96 it has only 9000 miles so i dont think wear would be the issue, has anyone else had this problem

Might want to disassembly the unit and give it a good clean up. Corrosion built up overtime

If cleaning the switch contacts doesn't fix it, check the high beam relay.

When taking things apart, watch for little springs and things flying all over the gaddaam place. I understand they are everywhere on our switches.

Could be a relay, handle-bar switch or in my opinion check your head-light fuse. Mine was a bit wasted after 25 years of runnuing around. When I installed a new wiring harness all that chit went away. You could pop the fuse box off and have a good look underneath, mine had bad contact, a solution would have been to cut the wires and run another fuse set-up. Keep us posted, I would imagine the gen4 bike is not much different than the gen3 bikes I have. Cheers
