Clip-ons from what bikes will fit on the '06 VFR. For instance, there are a ton of CBR clip on out there. and maybe one set of VFR clip ons.

I'll try to answer my own question then.

Here are some bikes with 43mm tubes. Clip-ons from these bikes may fit. However, I'm not sure if the clearance will be enough since some of these are not riser bars.

    Honda
    CBR600F4 year 1999-2000
    CBR600F4i year 2001-2006
    CBR1100XX year 1990-2001
    SUZUKI
    RF600 year 1994-1996
    RF900 year 1994-1996
    Bandit 1200 year 1997-2003
    YAMAHA
    R6 year 1999-2004

Has anyone tried any of these? Are there others?

Oooh I'd like to see this..

Any bike with 43mm forks - excluding those with traditional handlebars such as the BANDIT...
Not sure about the RF6/9 either, those were pretty much budget built so I doubt they'd have 43's ( quite prepared to be wrong though..)

Clip-ons from bikes where they were originally mounted under the top yoke are unlikely to fit either..

You do realise the engagement tabs have to be in the correct alignment too ?

Yeah, it turns out there are multiple factors that go into clip-on compatability. Like I'm wondering if you can throw on some 43mm Vortex clip-ons, which don't seem to list the VFR as one of their compatible bikes. But then again, are we really suppose to be racing these things?
    ...but of course!

Nope. I tried but ended up putting on stock bars. Let me know if you have ventured elsewhere.

    clip on

I bought the vfr because of the handle bars where set higher and the pegs lower than the 1000rr. more comfort on long long rides. But I have never bin one to leave anything alone ?Do you have any pictures ? I admire your atempt but if it did not work . It still may be usefull to see why. Maby some one knows or has something that will work or that this setup will work on.It is the doing and trying that makes things happen. keep trying.

Ahhh...I unfortunately don't have pictures. The vortex clip-ons didn't fit mostly due to the fact that the bars insert into the clip-on at the back instead of at the top as is true with stock bars. So, the clutch and brake levers, block and cables, were too close to the digital panel and kept rubbing and limited the range of motion. I was able to ride with them on, but turning radius was drastically decreased. And, my fingers would get pinched between the fairings and bars on tight turns. The lean angle was not drastically different, just enough to get me under the double bubble screen. Didn't have a chance to take it on a long ride to see how my body would fair at that lean angle.

I have thought about other clip-ons too, but I always just figured there was no way they would clear the fairing if they were any lower. Now I am just looking at the reality that I may just have to save for a few years and buy a 1000RR to complement the VFR in order to satiate my Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde mentality on the bike.
