Hey guys, new here. I'm Thinking about picking up a very low mile vf500 from an uncle of mine, (only about 1k miles and he is the original owner) it has a vance&hines exhaust on it and an aftermarket seat, although i do not recall the brand.

The bike has been kept in a garage or at very least under a cover its whole life and is in absolutley beautiful condition for an 84' no rust or corrosion anywhere. All the electrics work and has good compression, probably would have started if it had gas (had been drained for storage)

So here's my question i can probably get it for around 500$, and this will be my first (street) bike. I understand that working on these 4v's can be a pain, and i have an entire hotrod/fabrication shop to my disposal. (And i love working on carbs for some odd reason) so what do you guys think? Should i pull the trigger?

Any response is greatly appreciated! Thanks for looking.

I should also add that this will NOT be my commuter bike, this will be a every-other-weekender at most. Ill have a drz for that:wink:

The bike had also been kept in running order untill about 8 years ago, so it has not been dormant for it entire existence

You would be crazy not to grab that bike . If it's in that good shape it probably worth 4 times that price.
1 owner bike and he's your uncle! Grab that bike you will love it.

Someone with your skills should put that 500 back on the road, and you're drafted.

You need it and it needs you. :semi-twins:

When I see stories like this I always wonder just how many VF500s did Honda actually make? Was the bike very popular in the US because in the UK they sold, but not in big numbers as far as I recall. According to the "How many left" website there are about 200 still in the UK, but less than 40 are taxed for road use.
