Personally I think they're afraid to take their hand of the bars! Especially with ape hangers, can't be easy to ride with then to begin with.

I don't like that they're more of a PR/Advertising firm than a motor company. You don't buy one of their products based on its engineering merit, you buy it based on the propaganda/Americana that the HD logo represents.

Same deal out here Duccy used market is awash with them but people continue to buy new ones, they obviously just trade their old one in and these end up on the second hand market, be millions of dollars worth of them just sitting around waiting for some sucker to front up

I used to just dislike many of the riders because of their 'Holier than thou' attitude. After what HD did to Buell by just shutting them down instead of letting them go, now I hate HD in general.
Considering what Erik Buell has done through the years on the limited resources is pretty amazing.
My Buell wasn't the most refined cycle I have ever owned but it is the only bike that I have ridden over 1,100mi. in 17hrs. on. And it was the most fun bike I have ridden too.

I had a 1945 WLA military model that just got way too labor intensive to keep. So I sold it to a friend with more money than sense. It was still fun to take out and ride. The slack jawed looks from idiots on fat boys were priceless. The only time I was able to play up the holier than thou card on the holier than thou crowd and make them like it...

As far as the links you posted, that's a website that lets people post completely un-vetted articles.

These headlines say it all. "Motorcycle post modest gains, Profits up despite that..." Basically means that brand licensing is so strong that it doesn't matter what motorcycle sales do because bikes are expensive to produce, but brand licensing costs nothing.

Also a bicyclist and find I am much more likely to be scared by a 90 year old asshole in a Camry (to which my presence is apparently a major inconvenience) than a Harley!

I have a Harley up for sale now that I have my VFR. I mostly rode my ZX7R, but when the wife wanted to come along, we took the HD. The VFR fixed that. My only real issue is with the riders who refuse to let the faster riders pass. I've had Harley riders try to keep me from passing when, if they would just let me go, I would be gone and out of their way in less than a few seconds. I'm all for people getting their kicks in different ways, but don't keep others from their fun.
