I love the yellow of the 5th gens. Has anybody ever painted a 6th gen that same yellow?

The closest I've seen is Tinkerwstuff's 5.5 Gen. He grafted a 6 gen rear end onto a 5 Gen and painted the bike yellow. Looks really good but probably not what you're looking to see. Otherwise, I haven't seen anyone post a pic up of one as of yet.

I've always wondered the same thing. I had a yellow 5th gen, and am on my second red 6th gen. I never liked yellow bikes until my 5th gen, and now I'm dying to paint it pearl yellow!

I don't believe that Honda ever factory painted a 6th gen in yellow.

I believe the options were Black, Silver, White, Red, and HRC RWB (25th Anniversary)

There might have been a blue as well - not 100% on this.

Agreed. They did not offer yellow in the 6th Gen. Just to expand on what you already listed, there were matte black, metallic black, and gloss black, Italian red and the deep candy red, and the non-USA white/black which I believe was in '09. There was also sword silver in addition to the mid-2000s bright silver.

I would love to do my 2003, including the saddlebags, in the 5th gen pearl yellow.

Anyone feel like a painting gig?

    Guys,
Since first posting I've found this pic. What do you think?

It's ok, but not the same pearl yellow of the 5th gen. That shade looks a little lighter to me, and is a basic gloss yellow paint. Probably from one of the aftermarket companies.

Can't match the honda pearl yellow without spending huge money. Bad billy knows a fair bit about paint and could explain the reason why better than I can. My paint was a custom mix by Sherwin Williams Automotive Paints. It's a single stage and they got it to match extremely well in natural light. Under artificial light it looks different and probably similar to the issue you see in that 6gen specimen.

I guess I didn't realize it was special paint- I just thought it was yellow.
