I did some searching but came up with nothing. When should my cooling fans come on? I had it running the other day and the temp gauge was almost in the red and they still did not come on. Do I have a problem or will they come on when it gets hotter? I shut it down I did not want to overheat it. Any help would be great.
    Thanks

I'm not 100% on this but if it is almost to the red they should have come on already. I would check your fuse and switch. My 500 switches on a little after half way.

Thats what I thought, but I was not sure. If anyone knows how it should be on the 700 that would be great.

Mine comes on about 1/3rd from the top . . .

To test your fans, jumper the two wires together with the ignition on. The fans should turn.

To test your fanstat, at 1/4 from top of the gauge, the two wires should show continuity. The fanstat just completes the connection when the coolant gets hot enough.

Check the connection at the sending unit located on the bottom of the lower radiator. You can unplug the sender, use a jumper wire and jump the wires together. With the switch on, the fans should run. If they do, you may have a bad sender. If they don't, check for 12v on one of the wires. If no voltage, check for blown fuse or bad wires. If you have voltage at the sender but fans still don't run, check to make sure the fans are grounded.

Honda has a stock replacement sensor that cures the "late on" inherent with the old stock sensor. ($40.)I have one plus a switch to manually turn it on during our balmy southern afternoons in Florida if needed.

my 750 kicks on just a little past half on a hot day...but otherwise the bike rarely gets that hot....will probably be doing the remote switches to both my 750s to be on the safe side though.
