if he wants it factory, he doesn't need a manual switch. he has an issue to correct, then he does not need a manual switch

Yes, of course - if he wants it to work like factory then I totally agree.

    Hey everyone,

Thanks for the awesome comments and suggestions... like i said in the first post... i attempted to hit a nail with a sledgehammer! i used the thermo that came on the new motor and pump also...

I will take the radiator in to the shop to get it powerflushed and tested.... hopefully it checks out and the flush gets a bunch of crap out of there... now to try and save this expensive honda coolant...

as far as factory for the fan... i may switch it back to the fan switch for testing... would anyone recommend getting some kind of digital temp gauge for this bike? aftermarket or something to the effect?

again, thanks for all the amazing input and great to have found this huge resource for my favorite road bike!!!

is there even anything wrong with your original engine? Those plants are good for 200K+ miles easy.

Original engine was blowing white smoke out the exhaust. Did it smell like coolant? Did the engine overheat and blow a head gasket? Did you do a leakdown test?

This happened to my 1984 VF750F. It was no fun . . .

there was def white smoke... me being in a hurry and just ignoring problems rode it pretty hard with the temp gauge at H for many weeks... pretty sure it didn't like it... although it was still running really strong and not sputtering out or anything... no leakdown tests or compression tests... couldn't tell if it smelled like coolant...

anyone that lives in LA can come get the motor if they want... free... not sure what else to do with it....

I'm not in LA but close enough. I might take you up on that. How soon did you want to get rid of it?

I'll check with a friend of mine and see if he still wants a V4 engine for a side project. I'll let you know ASAP.

For future reference, it generally is not a good idea to ride the engine hard for weeks with white smoke billowing out of the exhaust and the temperature gauge pegging at HOT.
