http://www.ebay.com/itm/2002-2009-Honda-VFR800-VFR800A-Interceptor-Motorcycle-Service-Manual-Repair-/151510890671 Best $76 you'll ever spend ... I have the same manual for my bike and it's the bible.
If you still need one I can give you a link to an electronic copy (PDF). It's quite a large file so email won't work. Let me know, either on this thread or a PM. Cheers
FYI, you can buy these manuals as well as other Honda manuals direct from the distributor... www.helminc.com In fact the VFR factory service manual is $64.95 plus shipping. Might come out to the same price as the ebay seller but you're guranteed it'll be the official Honda manual. Sometimes the stuff on eBay is just a photocopy of the real item. I bought a manual for my Ducati off ebay once and it turned out to be an electronic copy on a burned CD with a bunch of other "freebies" on it, no porn unfortunately!
It's available for download on the VFRD website. Not sure if you need to register or not but the link is below. http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/index.php/files/
Normally I'd point people there too but after there was an issue with it being removed (fixed now I think) I just send a link to a file I have available, coincidentally the one I got from VFRD. Six of one, half a dozen I guess
I wonder why we can't get our links fixed here? We used to be able to access thee manuals here at VFRW rather than having to cross the tracks to get it.
I'm with Jeff...a real paper factory manual is so much better than any electronic version. It's easier to look stuff up and doesn't require printing pages to take to the garage. Unless you're strapped for cash, this is the only way to go. FWIW, I buy a real factory service manual for every vehicle I own, and I've never regretted it.
I know most of us have accounts on both sides of the tracks and pretty much go back and forth but I agree with you Randy, one shouldn't have to reach out to another website for information that should and did exist here.
The service manual links from this site weren't actually stored on the VFRW servers, they were all stored on various remote servers hosted by other people. Most likely those people cancelled their hosting services and when this happens the files from the host server are removed from their servers. If the files don't exist anymore on the remote server it means the file paths in our forums are no longer valid. I'm sure those manuals are copyright material so hosting them on the VFRW servers could mean legal issues for the site which is why I assume they were never hosted locally.
I looked and looked for the factory manual for a 1953 Velocette I used to have. No such luck. A good use for a PDF that can be accessed by all kinds of devices is to check on what some parts dude or sleazeball service manager at a dealership is trying to pull off. Gets things down to the nitty-gritty in color or black and white.
Try searching a couple likes I put on here a few months ago. Service manual and honda generic service guide. If not I have pdf versions of both
Shitload. Is that an imperial measurement or metric? Maybe I can adopt this measurement in the U.F.R.R.
The amount varies from locale to locale. Originally, the term is Canadian except in Quebec where they go by volume and not weight.
