Yesterday put on a new Michelin PR4 rear tire and took a 75 mile ride to scuff it up. Very noticeable difference! Beautiful 80 degree day!

Took all fairings off VFR750, replaced rear plugs with iridiums, checked rear valve clearances, replaced rear cam cover bolt seals (old ones 4.3mm thick, new ones 5.1mm).
The other day had removed cluster and replaced most bulbs and stripped it to remove dust, dead insects and spider webs. Looks new now.
Front head tomorrow for same treatment. Then coolant flush.

Let me know what you think of it once you get it scrubbed in. I am due pretty soon, and have been trying to compare PR3, PR4, and PR4 GT

I have a new front tire as well, will get around to that in a week. I am not a high performance rider, but I did notice one corner I usually take @70, I was pushing 78 with a lot more confidence.

I got 4979 on rear before changing, could have gone a little further, but I was anxious to try PR4's. Will wait a little long for the front. Rear tire required loosening muffle and swinging out of the way. Don't have a safe way to support bike to lift the from off the ground, no solid point underneath to jack it. Front pipes come down and are in the way.

I only got 3020 miles out of the oem Dunlop rear on my 2014. Now have about 3000 on PR4's, and couldn't be happier. Looks like I should get 5k to 6k out of the rear, even more from the front.

Was tempted by the $15 full set of pads on Amazon but went with EBC OEM type- $90. I ran into a few issues but I'll save them for a blog post. Took it out for a few laps around the lake.

I think I know why dealers won't work on older bikes. Maintenance and repair procedure times probably don't inclued added time for corrosion.

This was from a few days ago, but I put a full set of EBC HH pads on my bike. Wow, what a difference! My front pads were pretty bad, with the right inside pad being very close to metal!

Ordered new springs for the starter clutch on my '96, along with the right side crankcase cover gasket. The starter has been acting wonky for a while now. When I finally opened it up this weekend I was expecting to see the starter clutch cracked into pieces as I've seen examples of on here; but it was in good shape. The only thing I noticed was one spring quite a bit weaker than the other two. Hoping that replacing them will fix the intermittent issue.

Didn't do a traditional power braker. With linked brakes I didn't want to wear the rear brakes down. Hence the wall. ^

    Just changed the front brakes.

Original set lasted 50,000 miles...as far as I can remember. I could be wrong.

Wow. 50,000 miles on a set of front pads?

    Mine lasted about 22,000 miles.

The front SMC has to be triggered for it to activate the rear caliper. As long as the front wheel is not spinning, there will be no centrifugal force on the rotor to trigger the SMC. But your method works too!

Installed 6000k hi and low HIDs today and changed chain (put on Tsubaki) and sprockets (dropped a tooth on front) a couple weeks ago. Rode it a few miles today to check out the lights and see how new chain felt.
