Just wondering if anyone had installed a set of RaceTech Gold Valves. I've got a set of very leaky fork seals & figured if I have to pull the forks apart I might as well install the eliminators. So if anyone has any info on how difficult a job it is please let me know b before I do something stupid. thanks dave
I've installed lots of them for both my own bikes as well as others'. They work great and are well worth the money. Since you'll already have the forks disassembled the only addition work would be to drill out the damping rods. It's not that tough providing that you have a drill press large enough for the Ø.315" drill bit.
Jamie, Thanks for the info, I was a little concerned that I would be getting in over my head. I've actually looked at your web site & seriously thought about sending the forks to you, but with shipping times our (way to short) riding season would probably be over before I got the bike back on the road. Out of curiosity, do you / would you sell the parts needed for the job (valve eliminators / seals / everything else that I don't know I need yet etc.) If so please let me know. Again Thanks for the info / reply Dave
Sure man, no problem. Since the damping rods need to be modified it would be necessary for you to send them to me. I can then return them with the RT parts. The RT valves are $135 and the rebuild parts are approximately $80-90. Those prices reflect passing on to you the discount I get.
