Honda UK also has the Crossrunner, which looks has the v-four 800 cc V-Tec engine. Looks pretty good, but not available in the USA or Canada yet. Any rumours of these coming this way? Anyone ride either? Also like the idea of keeping th4e 800cc v-tec around...I really miss mine! I'm wondering if the 800cc is tuned or geared the same as the VFR800? You would think that if it is going to be used partially off road, they would have to tone down the power somehow. With the V-tec, I'm just wondering how that would be possible. Maybe raise the rev limit for v-tec? Unsure. Wonder if it's really the bike the vfr 800 is.
This may help http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle...r800x-crossrunner-updated-for-2015/25513.html It seems the bugs were not fully ironed out of the first series cross-runner before it was released for sale - possibly because Honda needed something to compete against the massive growth in sales of BMW GS adventure style motorbikes. From this and all the other reviews I have seen the latest crossrunner is much improved and once fitted with decent protection and off-road tyres is a very credible adventure bike rather than an adventure styled street bike. I think on Motorcyclist that they had an article about some rumors that the Crossrunner might come to USA. http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/2015-honda-crossrunner-800-to-speed
That's interesting. A rider I know swears by his Suzuki V Strom 650, saying that he can actually use it on logging roads and some single track. I noticed that it's 56 pounds lighter than the VFR Crossrunner, so I'm wondering if it might be a little better than the Crossrunner off road? I'm not really sure, but a comparison would be interesting.
