got the lady out of the backyard today, fired her up, and noticed one headlight out, information screen completely blank.... <sigh>

took her down to get her spring servicing at my buddy's place and had him do the fork oil since I haven't done it since I've owned her... and he found the antifreeze reservoir completely dried out and traces of shells/nuts and small animal collections......... and all the fuses were good.... oh, and the right headlight came back on about halfway there...

    SO

I'm digging out the manual and will start the troubleshooting immediately... but has anyone had this kind of problem? I'm hoping to NOT find a nest up behind the headlight while digging....

also found out that Akrapovic and Two Brothers no longer carry slip-ons or exhausts for our 5th gens....

    :grief:

There's been a few posts about how nice the VFR airbox looks if you are a hibernating rodent. Sounds like yours could be a prime candidate, so it may pay to lift the front of the tank and take the top off the airbox for a quick look. Given your headlight experience you may have a bit of corrosion on other electrical circuits so it might pay to get some contact cleaner and work your way through all the connectors; you might get lucky and the display comes back to life.

If you are looking for a slip-on I can recommend the Delkevic products, I run an 18" tri-oval in stainless and it is hard to beat for the price.

ok I've torn it all apart and don't see anything that screams disintegrated corrosion... shooting continuity and checking fuses again just in case I missed it earlier... :(

    ohhhhhhhhhhh dear....

wipe a little caked on dust and dirty and there is the sneaky green corrosion....

    time to solder. :/
