I've got a buddy down in Longview, TX that rides. He's originally from up this way. I am thinking of maybe visiting him one year.

 

I don't have specific long range trip plans yet, waiting to see how my wife reacts to 2up riding. I'd like to hit Palo Duro Canyon for overnight camping. Worst case we'll probably hit some places in Kerrville, about 1.5hrs away, since I have some family there.
Longview is damn near in Louisiana. That's what's crazy about TX, it's bigger than some countries!

Glad I don't have to deal with all the winter drama...iit was 85 here today!

Well that's what I get for being lazy during the pre-purchase inspection. I started paying attention to water temp as I put a few miles on this weekend, and sure enough the thermostat is bad. Temps are running 135-170, way too low. I contacted the dealer, but they're unfortunately 1.5hrs away, so it's going to be a week or so until I can get it over there.
Worst part is, I knew the thermostat was an issue on these bikes, and just kept forgetting to let it warm up before I signed the papers. After reading the thread here about the procedure to replace...I'm definitely waiting an taking it to the dealer to fix
