New member saying hello

Just joined VFRWorld forum and accepted the prompt to introduce myself. I ride a 1999 VFR800 (yellow), which I have owned for about 8 years. Prior to that I've had a 77 BMW R100 and 78 KZ650, both purchased used. The VFR has been the best of the bikes I have owned. Must say that it is looking somewhat abused, with surface damage to both sides of the fairing, chip out of tank paint, and various other personal touches. I am not a person to fuss over the aesthetics of my bikes. If they run, are sound and safe, then that is all than matters. The VFR gets washed once per year whether it needs it or not. I will ride in all weather (excluding snow and freezing conditions, of course). The riding season where I live runs from mid April to end of October (if the gods are willing); sometimes shorter. Was contemplating purchasing another bike, but have decided to invest in the VFR instead. Plans include new mirrors (longer stem), new seat (likely Sargent), new fairings and new paint for the tank. Will also investigate higher heli bars; the old back aint what it used to be. I figured that this forum would be a good source of advice and experience.

Please tell us you are not one of our "beloved" senators out there in the Capitol Region. Welcome to the forum. We do need pix of your ride. Tax time is coming up and I may have to resort to making false reports about you to the CRA.

 

Capital region - yes. But not a hockey fan so don't follow the Senator's progress on the ice (though I've been told that they are now out of the playoffs). Nor do I have much time or patience for Senators on Parliament Hill.
