Settling for anything less than the PR4's. imho, is foolish...they're effortlessly great. Can't wait to get them on my '93

There are serious fast young guys that are regulars at Jennings. Real nice normal until its go fast time then its like you said, race face. These guys run their tires practically off. Flipping direction as Jennings has a lot of lefts. I have seen them over at the tire change trailer picking up"spent slicks" and laughing saying they can get at least 5 more sessions out of them. Then again sliding around at blinding speeds with G forced stretched smiles in normal for them.

I hope its safe to run the Dunlops on the mach 1 until they start getting flakey before I pop for a set of PR4's so I can be fast..

Sorry bout the plug as an opener. This is a local fast guy. On a race day at PIR Mike will ride several bikes. He also holds several lap records. Good guy, good school.

Fast is relative.. Fast is on a half mile and a National plate goes around you in the apex in a full lock slide and pats you on the ass as he blows by. Fast is riding bitch on a VFR with Reg Pridmore at the controls and thinking "I'm going to fucking die" at the next corner. Fast is The Isle of Man. Fast is all those dudes riding the Moto GP bikes.

Mike is fast. I saw him at WSB in a race with some other fast guys and he placed 33rd.

    The plug:

Now I'm really wondering if I need those PR4s or not..;)

Top 10 for 8 years in AMA is a long time to be that competitive. I see that Dunlop is one of his sponsors, thats a good one to have.

DOn't forget the other fast guys, Moto 2 is not far off GP lap times and WSBK close to that on factory frames.

I got them on the VFR 1200. Probably the best tires you can get as of today !!

Maybe a differentiation between fast guys and really fast guys is needed? Both are easy to spot from behind.

WSB frames are like the rest of the bike. They are factory, but which factory? Where this is seen is in the pits if they are open. The bikes come in after practice or a race and the wrenches take over with tools most of us have never seen.

Mike is an iron man.. He would kick ass in a race on a liter bike and if the next race was for something else he'd be on that too. This was all day..

I wish I had a Dunlop sponsorship.. Crappy as they are...:)

I installed a set of PR4's about 1k miles ago. If they last over 10K I'll be buying another set for sure.

OK, I just put a PR4 on the rear wheel so we'll see how it goes. The PR2 I just took off had 13,601 miles on it and it looks like it still has a few more miles left on it. Although the center was starting to square off so I figure time to change it out.

I had a set spooned on yesterday and all I can say is wow! The PR3 tires that were on there before were good, but a little bland on turn in. The PR4s have a little bit of fall in on the turns and it makes the bike so light feeling and easy to ride. I ran down a small canyon on the way home and I am in love! I am really looking forward to my next ride! Woot! I bought them at Wheels In Motion and with two 90 degree valve stems that were only $5 each because they bought a large amount at once. Total price? $356 and change out the door. They sold me an EMGO replacement mirror for $30 that I pick up tomorrow.

Got these on my 750 FM, just as bloody good as when I had them on my Street Triple R, took me less than 2 hours to get the rear strips down to around 3mm

I'll happily take A "I told you so". I love these tires. I rode out to Wheels In Motion to pick up my mirror and even on the freeway, I love 'em. I am looking forward to some canyon time with them. They make my bike feel 100 pounds lighter. I got on the gas hard leaned over and they just stuck. So nice!

I have the pilot road 4 trail on my crosstourer seeing as I don't ride dirt alot. Have done 5000kms on them and they are brilliant!
I would recommend them to anyone.
A buddy of mine who also rides on pr4's had a set of angel gt's on before, he only got 8000kms on the angel gt's, but grip was better with them..

Should be picking up my 6th Gen tomorrow morning. Owner said tires are ok, but I'm assuming they will need to be replaced sooner than later. Anyone riding two up regularly try the PR4 GT? I don't know the exact differences between the standard and GT, only that the GT supposedly adds rigidity for heavier loads.

Given that these bikes aren't the lightest, the GT should be perfect. I have the normal, none GT and they're brilliant, treating them mean and no signs of wear yet.

If I'm not mistaken, the GT has two additional sidewall plies.

Nuff said. If this doesn't convince you to buy them, I don't know what will. I'm not posting this out of conceit, but because of how surprised I am with them.

Sounds like Pilot Road 4's. I still have a couple thousand km's left on the stock ones.....
What about the stock rear spring? It seems really stiff on my bike. Should I just try to set it for more compression, or should I replace it with an Ohlins? Somehow, I can't imagine that the factory one isn't that bad...
