What year is this vfr750 engine? Please help

    hey guys I'm new to this site it seems pretty cool. Well I have a vfr750 engine stuffed into a Yamaha banshee chassis and I was wondering what year it is can anyone help please image.jpg

    im guessing its a 86-87 because of the engne color(gold/tan)

    what years are in the second gen? and do all years have a fuel pumps or are the older ones gravity

    86-87 in the U.S., they did come with a fuel pump but in your application I don't see it being a must but I would if it was me.

    Yes I unfortunately do need a fuel pump because my gas tank is under my seat and I'll get some more pics up, and what's the difference between 86-87 fuel pumps and 90-97, they both look the same to me

    Either 86 or 87. You could always decode the VIN.....

    In regards to the fuel pump, the later model units should work just fine for your application. The only real difference is that the inlet/outlet are straight instead of being 90 degrees.

    Well over the top that item is, one scarey skateboard 4 sure ! :eek-new:


    Gold(-ish) cover indicates '86 only i believe.
