    Hello all,
Just bought this 2002 VFR800 with only 5,800 miles on it for a song. I'm comming off my 1998 CBR 900rr that was a peeked and tweeked wheelie monster but as time is catching up to my aging body
I wanted something more forgiving. this seems to fit the bill for now. This bike is in show room condition and so far its a point and shoot laser, and my hands and feet are less numb after a long ride and
it still looks bad ass. At the moment it sounds like a sewing machine but I can't wait to slap some pipes on it! One thing I am bummed about is the lack of storage for a wallet and keys, my 900 had a little
trunk that was perfect for that as I am not a touring kind of guy. I hate having my pockets full of stuff.

Nice find! Almost as clean looking as Duccmann's (I swear he polishes that thing daily), anyway Welcome to The World! I too found the lack of storage space a small issue (no pun intended). I went through several routes trying to remedy the situation, backpack, tank bag, tail bag and finally a "holster" bag.

Personally I don't like wearing a backpack for very long rides so I went to the GIVI Tanklock tank bag. It works great as it's easy on/off and doesn't even touch the gas tank (i.e. no scratching of the paint) but I didn't like having the tank bag on when I was sport riding, so I went with a tail bag. For storing a change of clothes and other items I prefer it over the tank bag, however it doesn't work with the seat cowl on but works great otherwise. I still use it most of the time. So last item I bought and use almost every ride, except when I commute to work as I have the top case on, the holster bag. I find it's perfect for the small stuff that is just slightly too big for pockets. It doesn't get in the way at all, I barely notice it and it'll hold quite a bit of stuff for how small it looks. I use it for my wallet, phone, camera, aspirin, lip balm and a few other small items that I want at hand. A lot easier to access stuff than a backpack, it;s always at my side, so I know I won't forget and leave it attached to the bike when I stop and wander around.

    Here's the GIVI tankbag

I got it off of eBay, look for motorcycle holster bag, there are several vendors who have them. I think they come from Hong Kong, regardless of where the re-seller is located. Of course you might also find similar items at the usual MC shopping outlets.

    Cheers.

Welcome to the World of misfits, insanity and accassionally wisdom. I see these finds like yours and can help but wonder, what the hell was wrong with the previous owner?

A set of Staintunes Pipes makes this 6th gen sound really nice without being obnoxious.

@OOTV. I got a bag just like that from Irleand when I was over there. Has "Guinness" tagged all over it. Going to have to dig that out.

BTW. Take it to any HOnda dealer and run the VIN for recalls. There was a big electrical recall for pre 06 6th gens that Honda still covers I believe. I think there is a fire hazard.
