Mixture adjustment affects the revs for a given throttle opening. Changing one carb independently can affect the whole engine: indeed that's how you set the mixtures. Once the mixtures are correct, the carbs need to be balanced, which makes them all deliver the same charge at the same time. That means each cylinder is doing the same amount of work for a given throttle opening, which is most efficient, most responsive, and smoothest.

All the fuel mixture screws are set the same. Bottom out geny and count your turns, the manual states how many turns depending on year, state, country. CA bikes are different than Canada bikes. That wont affect you though.

Carburetor synchronization makes cunt hair throttle smoother, taking off from a start/idling at a light, carb sync makes these more pleasant. Once your past that small amount of throttle it doesnt matter as much. Fuel mixture screws involve mileage and how much gas the motor is getting. I could be wrong though ; )

That's only the rough guide to get the bike to run when the carbs are assembled. From there it needs to be fine tuned. The service manual details the process.

I also may well get the bike fully resprayed with something special. Keep an eye out for that, won't be until April time though due to it being bloody expensive!

And after some serious polishing of all the nuts and bolts, I also added a tank pad and my Maxton reworked forks. I did a carb balance today as well, first time - only fiddly bit was getting the bloody brass adapters into place, but they're on permanently now so should be easier to balance them in future!

Looks Great!!! On my 93 I used the brass tubes like you described and cut some rubber hose equal lengths and screwed 4 bolts into the ends. This way, when you do the synchronizing drill, you simply get out your long needle noses and pull of the hoses and you got the brass spigots ready to accept your hoses for your carburetor balancer. My other bike, the 91 I have two brass spigots and two screws with washers sealing up the plenum. Actually, I don't really remember now, anyway...:loco: :hippie:

I polished up my d-zus fasteners too, sad that the new bikes don't have as nice fastening systems or hardware of yester-year. Cheers, and happy/safe riding...

Oh, on my 93 I have those funky honda aqua-trax allen head bolts, they used to use them on the Dos-XX bikes, but these are stainless steal.

The wrap is always fiddly, the tank needs doing in two parts. The bike above is a spray job though!

    So...

So, I bought the Sebring from Dutchy on VFRD and have had it fitted (I didn't want to do it myself, cost a bloody fortune but seems worth it). *I also got a Dynojet kit fitted, it's making 93bhp at the rear wheel now, which is enough for me and my riding style.

I've GOT to buy a baffle for it, loud is an understatement - it's basically obscenely loud.

I won't be doing anything else to the bike for a good while now, I've sank a pretty stupid amount into it over the past 6 months haha, the Mrs isn't going to be happy with me if I continue. *Next up will be a Hyperpro rear shock but may just save up slowly until Christmas and buy it as a pressie to myself then, the suspension as it stands is pretty decent with the Maxton front end.

    Here's some pics...
