exhaust help

    Looks to me like they are slip-ons. May have to rejet - it depends. Probably will not significantly change anything but sound. I'd say about 80% of the restriction in our exhaust system is the collector.

    See if someone can measure a 500 collector outlet size for you and see if is the same as yours.

    Don't see any reason why they won't fit. With adjustable discs, you should can adjust the backpressure to fit your bike.

    No, the VF500F pipes will not [easily] fit the 700's. If you are looking for interchanges keep an eye out for VF1000 parts as they are the closest.

    By the way, the 86 VF500's were the same as the 84-85's in the exhaust department so these pipes would fit them as well. SuperTrapps are not the best though. Don't forget that all slip-ons cause a power decrease on the early VF's. With a lot of jetting and fiddling you might be able to get back to stock but that's about it. The only benefits are looks and sound.
