New to me 97 VFR coming up on 40K. I have been mostly communing about 3 miles 1 way. Here's my concern, My engine never reaches full operation temperature so condensation never gets burned out of the oil. So do the synthetics hold up better under these conditions or should I change my oil every 2K like I've been doing?

You use the word never, as if you never ride your bike more than just 3 miles to work? Ever?

In that case no oil is going to protect against the wear your causing.

I would take the long way home once in awhile, you know. Its good for the engine and the soul.

Ok "NEVER" may be over stating it. 5 days a week commuting, maybe once on the weekend a 50 mile ride one or 2 times a month.
