'04 VFR with 7,400 mi (not a typo). Bike wouldn't start the other day - very slow turnover then clicking. Charged the one-year old Motobatt battery and took it to dealer for load test - passed. Checked voltage (13.2) and put battery back in bike and on battery tender and also cleaned all connections. Came back three days later - tender shows solid green and battery shows 13.2 V. Bike would not start again - very slow turnover then clicking. Thoughts anyone?

Put your meter on the output side of starter relay, check voltage while trying to start, if OK, put meter on starter motor terminal, check voltage while trying to start. Sounds like a corroded connection somewhere in the high current path to the starter.

Thanks Allyance, I am not great with all things electrical but will look at the manual and see if I can figure it out.

I should also add that the voltage dropped to 4 while turning over.

I have a 2003 vfr800 vtec and Im only getting 115 miles from a full tank of fuel before it hits reserve ! I have read they can easily manage between 140-180 miles from a full tank. Does anyone have any idea whats going on with my bike ?

That's an entirely different topic totally !! :uncomfortableness:

OP's starting problem--using historical and statistical meta-data averaged out over hundreds of examples posted on this forum--would most probably be resolved with a brand-new fully charged battery followed by a check of the charging system output for full compliance.
