One of the pulse generators is crapped out on my daily driver. How bad is it to keep running my bike on 2 cylinders 20-30mins a day? (not necessarily everyday)
It fires on all 4 first thing in the morning but loses spark on 1-3 within 5-10mins.

Besides fouling plugs is it going to hurt anything to keep riding it few times a week? Just until I can get the part to fix it (2-4 weeks away).

Well thats not good to hear… It's a catch 22 I'm in then, if I don't ride it into town I can't make money to fix it. :grey:

You can check the generator connector to see if there is any kind of heat damage or rust and also check the cdi connector. This could be also caused by a damaged wire on the generator loom.

All connections on my bike have been gone over 3 times + with a fine tooth comb (cleaned/repaired if needed). My "igniter spark units" (CDI) have also been gone over and everything resoldered.

Its actually a wonder the bike was even working when I bought it a few weeks ago. Battery was almost bone dry and reading 11.6v with ignition On. connection from the alternator to regulator/rectifier was melted and fused together yet strong/steady 14.5 volts with bike running.

Battery was removed, topped up with distilled water and placed on a "smart" charger for two days. Functioning as it should both volts and load test.
Wiring from alternator to regulator/rectifier cleaned and repaired.

The pulse generator died about a week ago. At first I was able to ride it into town no problem and it would eventually fail while running errands, So I would just let it sit for an hour or so and I could ride it home. But its been getting worse and now it fails within 5mins or so of starting the bike.

I'm 100% confident the pulse generator to the 1-3 ignitor has failed.

What I don't have is the hundred dollars needed to buy a used set off eBay. Nor any other transportation means while waiting the several weeks it will take for shipping from the US.

You should keep an eye on your oil the unburned fuel may seep past your rings and contaminate your oil

Send me private message with your address and I will send them out tomorrow. Use what you need and we can work it out later.

Engine was running fine when I tore it down. Honda dealer had not installed cam chain tensioners properly, ended up buying a second bike at the time.

Got the new pulse generator installed tonight and OMG what a difference! They must of been giving a weak spark since I picked the bike up a month ago...

Its pulls so much smoother now and should hopefully fix the extreme poor fuel milage I was getting before.

Very happy for change. Shame its so dark and wet out! lol (I just did the pulser swap by flashlight under a dripping wet pine tree)

Thank you once again Allyance - Just made my year!
