I want to take the forks off my VFR800 (a '99 Fi-X). I've thought about trying to suspend the front from the roof, but would prefer to get a good stand that connects with the lower triple clamp. Has anyone any experiece of these, and any recommendations on ones to get? I've seen one on ebay from Constands (from Germany) - is it any good?

Woodcraft, they have different pins that go into the bracket of the unit and in turn get inserted into your lower tree. Have taken front wheels off with this set-up as well as fork legs. You know, if you were in "battle-conditions" you could use a jack under the exhaust and get the front wheel off the ground, have used a jack stand under foot pegs too, not on anything I ever owned though. :mech:

I've used the "battle conditions" method for simple adjustments - but my garage space is so tight I'd be concerned about serious collateral damage issues if I left the bike like that for any length of time!

I have the Pitbull convertible stand and it's great. Plenty solid and well made. Not the cheapest, but a good value.
