Well, I was doing the spring thing and put a screwdriver where I shouldn't have and arced the ignition switch between the pink and red wire I believe.

Now the bike will not start.

I checked the manual and did a few checks.

Does anyone know what the pink wire is for/goes to as it is not on the wiring diagram.

The engine cranks, but the fuel pump does not activate and the FI light stays on.

    Fuses are okay.

    Maybe ECM?

    Thanks...and yes, I know better...it was a bad week...

    Hello,
I have had a few problems myself......
Not to ask again the same questions but
Are you sure you checked all the fuses?
    Also kill switch relay?

Did you do the fuel pump test as in the manual?

THe chance you fried the fuel pump is slim,
but I know how to remove pump.
    I would guess the switch?
Its tough because I'm not there you know better.
I will check my manual tonight.

When was the last time you ran the bike?
You can e-mail me it may be easier.

    Good Luck
Post results it helps all us VFR riders!

NOTE not all ecm's work for 2001's
    98 and 99 are different from 2000 and 2001.

I may have the 2001 ecm as a spare.
