I've got 2- 12 lb turkeys going into the brine tonight. The'll go on the smoker Christmas morning. I'm thinking of riding to Ferndale Wa to see my sis and mom if I have time.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah or what ever pagan holiday you observe.

    Turkey makes me drowsy.
We are having Prime Rib and other vittles. As is always the case when we have Prime Rib, I'll be in charge since my wife and kids unanimously agree that I do a better job than my wife. Not sure I really buy that.

    Feliz navidad everybody!

The drowsiness caused by eating turkey can be counteracted by brining your bird in Red Bull.

I find turkey is a tiring meat so we're having a lovely cut of pan roasted filet mignon with a port glaze. Can't wait!

We only have two meals on Xmas. Big breakfast and Big Ham feast. Hahaha

Breakfast is 1doz eggs, 1lb smoked bacon from butcher, 1lb fresh made sausage from butcher, fried yeast dough (yes fried. It puffs up like a donut kinda or a beignet) coffee and OJ.

I'll be cooking a ham shank using pineapple, honey and cloves.

Being a Puerto Rican household, we'll also have the obligatory pernil.

    Various sides.

Christmas morning will be eggs and ham.

Before dinner I drink a shot of tequila, coca cola during meal and port or cognac for a night cap.

Snow. My favorite snowboarding spot has been getting dumped on, so I'm bailing on Christmas this year and heading west after work tomorrow!!! I'm sure somebody here will be willing to eat an extra portion of turkey for me.

Home cooked family recipe straight from New Orleans...Seafood GUMBO! The ingredients alone cost over $250!! Shrimp, crab, ham, smoked sausage, hot links and all the spices cooked most of the day and then served over a bed of white rice. I love it just like my women Hot and Spicy!

Here in OZ it will be big thick steaks n sausages on the BBQ along with a selection of prawns ,shrimps salmon and the usual cold meats like roast pork ,sliced ham cold turkey and bowls of assorted salad's with platters of seasonal summer fruit like mangoes, paw paw, pineapple, cherries , rock melon and strawberries

And not forgetting a mammoth size bowl of Brandy trifle for desert

Along with a big cooler full of ice cold beer , cider, bourbon and a plentiful supply of assorted wines

As the predicted temperature for Xmas day is 32° C with 45-55% humidity

Followed by a sleep in the hammock in the shade of a big tree and maybe a swim in the pool after the snooze

Enjoy your celebrations where ever you are

    Cheers
