Really sorry to hear that! I broke some ribs a couple of years ago and it was the worst injury I've ever had. Hopefully you heal quickly!

    Sorry !!!!

No one understand and feels your recent crashing emotions and injuries more than i. Seven hours waiting in an ER for knee-treatment and lots of expensive bike damage has made me firmly resolve to drink less beer b4 i plan to ride in the future. :eagerness:

    Not much winter riding anyway.

Ribs.......it really does not get worse than that. Your manliness has been replaced with a fear of sneezing, laughing, or coughing. Hope you heal up quick.

Bike's not bad at all. I DID smack my head pretty soundly, but the helmet took the brunt of it. Time for a new helmet~

I'm just laying on the couch & watching TV between vicodin-induced naps.....

Thanks to everyone for all comments!

Get well soon, at least it happened during the off season. FYI Shoei just came out with RF-1200 in matching solid red!

Let's look at the bright side. Sneezing and coughing may be rough right now, but at least you can still f*rt without hurtin' yourself.

Get well and get back in the saddle when able.

Do you need any parts? I think I have a "left" side plastic but it's yellow.

Thanks, dino! I'm taking her down for the winter. Going to replace all the plastic I can, install a new clutch & thermostat, and see about rebuilding the forks & rear shock.

I have both sides fairings in near new condition. I also have an upper cowl & rear fairing, but they both have broken tabs. I also need a new tail light lens and windscreen from my lowside last July.

Good to hear you have a plan. It took me a while to begin tinkering with my bike after I laid it down a couple years ago, but I got back to it and gained my confidence in the saddle in no time. I'm sure you will also.

If I wasn't hurting, I wouldn't be afraid to get back on it right now! I put 20,000 miles on it since this past April so it feels like second skin to me~

You said you were going to need a new helmet but how did the rest of your gear hold up? What were you wearing?Any rips or tears or busted seams?

How ya feeling wabbitman? Just a thought, after my surgery I pulled out my Tourmaster Air intake 2 and was blow away on the shoulder, elbows and back protectors. ....like thick cardboard. ...dont know what gear you ride with but got in touch with Revzilla and he suggested the Klim D30, Icon D30 elbows and shoulder pads...said that all the employees that upgrade use these.... holy cow its was like going from a VW for protection to a 4×4. And only $80 shipped. Just a thought
    Feel better

I agree the very flexible D30 material offers advantages over standard armour, it is also important to make sure the D30 pads are thick enough to do the job.

There are some interesting video reviews ...

Whilst this highly scientific testing of D30 armour produced unexpected results https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejN62qMPorc .

I found the robust testing at 2:30 in this review far more convincing :smile-new: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROhu7gU5lTw

    Enjoy

I never felt like I didn't have sufficient protection. Not much you can do about a direct hit to the left side/arm/head at 30 mph~

I feel like I actually got out of this relatively unscathed, compared to what COULD have happened....
