We decided not to vend at the NY International Motorcycle Show this year. Lots of reasons, but the bottom line is that we are saving thousands of dollars by not going and are going to pass the savings on to you.

Check out this thread to see the awesome show deals: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1029124

Must be a few copies of the Bert Munro Streamliner out there, I was at the bike show in Melb last weekend, and the Indian display had one, and it looked nothing like the one shown at NY, the one here looked like it was something Bert would have built in his back yard and the paint had no gloss on it at all, but it looked the real deal except it had no motor in it

Have you seen the one that is all chrome or the ABS knock offs that make a VFR look like a Munro streamliner? The one that is made out of Legos is very cool too.

Lets see..These guys are not going to do a show in NYC because of poor attendance that has not yet happened, union guys named Guido and Tony who are taking the pizza out of their kids mouths and using pix of the family dogs as objects to elicit sympathy to sell some air pumps and tire repair kits on a VFR BB?

The check is in the mail.

Hi Badbilly- I seem to have caused some upset with you, which certainly wasn't my intention.

I am a long-standing (riding) member of the VFR community, having had a '92, '96, '98 and now a '14 VFR. I have been riding Hondas on the street since 1979. Motopumps as a business has existed since 2005. The trade show circuit is interesting and knowing which shows are successful and which ones are duds, based on the previous years or the timing during the year is key to not wasting valuable resources. That being said, all shows are good and fun in some way.

I always use what I sell (or create) and also have a VFR specific product on the market for 2014+ VFRs. If you are riding a '14, I would be happy to send you a pair of our new bar risers to test and evaluate. [IMG]

The new MotoPump Mini Pro has been well received in the marketplace since debuting last year at the NY IMS. In fact we won Honorable Mention (Second Place to the new Roadcrafter 3 Suit) Best Motorcycle Product of the Year from Motorcycle.com.

If you are interested in checking out the MotoPump, I would be happy to send you one for free to test, report on here and keep. I think you will be impressed.

    Hey Jerritt-

The pump is 4.7”x 5.75”x 2” and weighs 18.2oz. Deluxe kit comes with a heavy duty neoprene case, cig plug, SAE plug, battery clips and battery ring terminals to SAE to install on the bike.

Full specs on motopumps.com and a long thread on ADV here.

Maybe Rod should pop for an ad on this BB to show support indicating that things work both ways. Fewer pesos and less work doing all that homework and predicting the future of trade shows. Or how bout a comparison and contrast of his stuff and the same gear that can be bought elsewhere.

With just the smallest amount of homework Rob instead of trying to bribe me with a set of bar risers should have looked and found that I don't have a 2014 VFR.

Would that all business large and small was straight up. That ain't gonna happen.

Go to literally any booth at any trade show and the stories vary little. This includes the polish schlepped to make old beer cans shine and the stuff to clean glasses with.

Unlike dudes whose rejoinders are straight out of a book on marketing, I call BS where I see it. I can also provide lists of "business dudes" who are doing or done time for doing business.

This includes Martha Stewart and Al Capone.

    Hey Rob,

I just want to say thanks for making this. Once I have recovered from the Holiday spending, I would like to get one. I have a cheapo version right now and while it works, there is major room for improvement. It's so convenient to have a little air pump with me. I did a long trip over the summer and it was great to be able to top off the tires as needed. The two things that REALLY stand out on the Mini Pro Deluxe is that it has a long hose and the fact that I can just plug it into my trickle charger connection or the power port. The one I have now has a very short hose and due to that, when I am topping off the front tire, I have to wedge it in between the rotor and the wheel, which is difficult to do and it it is buzzing away against metal making a racket and potentially scratching the powdercoat. On top of all that, the power cord doesn't even stow fully in the pump back, so I always have to coil up the extra and put it back into the bag that has bad zippers, and, amusingly, the LED light on the unit I have now, is on the opposite end of the hose, big lot of good that does if I have to pump at night!

I really appreciate all the thought that went into this. It's great to see good products!

Merry Christmas. Rob, Pay BB no mind. It is how he deals with the world in general and proof of the well worn adage that ends....."than to speak and remove all doubt."

If your pump ain't working all that good here's where Rob is getting his. Be patient there's a shitload of them. I got as far as 12v air pumps. This outfit has some great dinnerware too that doesn't even look like chopsticks.

I bet with some homework they even have Harley parts.

Oh man, you spoiled our surprise.

Well, since the cat is out of the bag, here is our other product. Tow behind model Maxi MotoPump... http://crownwell-compressor.en.made...-Air-Compressor-XHP1170WCAT-XHP1170SCAT-.html

I wouldn't have gone to all the trouble of designing a pump if I had known about this Made in China place...

Dude.. Proof would be to print oot the entire thing rather than a not too cool attempt at changing a clichéd adage into an axiom.

Thanks for paying my mind in centavos.

In the spirit of Christmas, this is a good read by a pro. At least try to remember the highlights when the next ad pops up here under the guise of "we are all bubbas here so buy my stuff from China".

The scary part is that this is bigtime at Harley botiques and is spreading like a virus..

Page after page of all sorts of pumps on that site. Some may find it odd that the Chinese are having you "design" pumps when they have so many already.

Just in case ya missed this one, allow me to refresh:

    http://www.made-in-china.com/traderoom/rwbandler

Could it be that some Chinese dude is impersonating a fellow VRR rider? LOL

No impersonation. I set that up back in March of 2007 when I was working on sourcing parts for my first generation pump. I ultimately became a Campbell Hausfeld dealer instead in order to get pump sub-assemblies in bulk to build from. CH was great to deal with for a few years until they had a change in senior management and moved away from being willing to sell in small volumes. When the minimum orders were set at 10,000 pieces, it became impractical.

The made in China site didn't yield anything successful beyond contacts for some custom made connectors for the pumps that I sourced back in 2009. It has been an interesting education.

I hope you have a patent on your design. You know how those Chinese guys like to copy stuff and undersell us VFR dudes.

The thing to do is spring for an ad on this site that shows support in pesos rather than coming in from the side like so many others. It really shows class.

Just hook up a bunch of hoses to BB and you could fill every tire on the planet and it would be straight up made in the USA. It could be a side project to his VFR World sales and marketing department that that he's apparently now heading.

Installed Billet Bar Risers from Rob at MotoPumps.com. Nice product, color matches very well, better than no color at all. Easy installation, one step not on instructions is to remove top triple clamp bolt to free up bracket that secures cable and hoses, otherwise you can't lift off bar assembly. Should be easier on wrists and back now.
