85 VFR700 Flywheel centerbolt

    bike keeps dieing decided to check the stator but the flywheels in the way,

    i removed the cover now im stuck and the flywheels centerbolt,
    CAM002837.jpg
    is there a special tool i have to get it off or just a normal wrench

    There are electrical tests for the stator which don't require rotor removal. If you smell burned stuff it's obviously shot.

    Did you test running voltage across battery terminals first ? Also inspect both plugs on voltage regulator + plug at starter relay.

    battery is getting 8 volts, voltage regulator a 5 volts, only thing that lead me to the stator was the 3 yellow wires which were at first getting warm and now are burnt out

    Could have just been corroded connections. Run the stator test like squirrel said. Be sure you have a fully charged battery.

    Solder the yellow wires to each other across the burned plug.

    First measure the resistances between the wires and to ground.
